Smart meter technology is relatively new and untested. We are being used as the guinea pigs. Fortunately there are many people researching and providing information about their effects on us. This blog is an attempt to provide resources about the meters as well as information specific to Pennsylvania. Use the links in the sidebars to find informative websites, videos, studies and articles that I have found to be helpful, as well as information specific to PA residents.

  1. I was unaware that West Penn Power is planning on installing the dumb meters in all counties, the meter reader I just talked to said that they're in Butler Co. now! What can we do to stop this??? Should we meet with our state representatives? I just found out about this today, so I haven't had much time to research this. I had read a year or so ago in my "wise traditions' quarterly newsletter that you can send them a letter saying you refuse to have one installed. Though I've heard that the EMF's have a range of 300 YARDS...so even if you don't have one installed, your neighbors will have them and we're all going to get fried! I saw a video from an "microwave weapons expert" that it can cause SIDS in infants! WHAT CAN WE DO???

    1. The legislators were hoodwinked when they passed the law because they apparently thought they were passing an opt-in law. However the clause about a 15 year depreciation schedule turned it into mandatory. Since they thought it was opt-in, they did not include an opt-out. The corrupt dictator Rep. Godshall has blocked opt-out legislation proposed to correct the situation. We need to hammer on the legislature until they stop letting dictators like Godshall in the house and Tomlinson in the senate prevent the legislation from being fixed with an opt-out. The RF radiation causes a variety of health problems, including cancer. The world health organization (WHO) has even reluctantly admitted that fact.

    2. I wrote to Rep. Mike Reese about this, he's sponsoring HB 1566 to let people opt out- however I have no idea where/when or how this will be voted on! I also wrote to my other representatives about it, one said he was friends with Rep. Reese and the other one did not reply at all.

  2. Just received my 2nd letter from Met-Ed here in eastern PA threatening to shut off my electricity as of July 1, 2019.
I thought we had opt out option until 2023. Not understanding why we need these NEW meters; I think it's a favorable update for their pockets.
